When I first laid eyes on our house I had an instant reaction that this would be “it”. Whether it be forever or just a really long time, I knew this was the house we would be moving in to. Now, this house was old and dated, but that’s what we wanted. Our budget didn’t exactly entitle us to a move in ready home complete with an updated kitchen and bathroom and that’s the one thing we loved about our house hunt. We wanted a house that we knew we had to update. We thought it was the best way to make it OURS. So after stumbling across this little Levitt house we knew it hit all the marks- close to family, close to friends, needed updating, good schools and what I ‘til this day call is on a “happy” block.
Front of House
Side Patio
This was a deal maker for me. All I envisioned was BBQ's, parties and dinners al fresco. With a little work this is where we would spend most of our summer nights.
Living Room
This was our view before demolition. Can we say wood paneling?
“Foyer”
…more wood paneling.
Kitchen
Outdated. Carpet. Broken windows. ‘Nuff said.
Staircase
Our staircase was covered with carpet, paint, and nails, and had a wrought iron railing.
We've since then pulled off the carpet, ripped out all nailed, sanded, and repainted them a crisp white finish. Read about it here and here.

Master Bedroom
Here we have more wood paneling and not so nice looking (or smelling) carpet. Oh and another broken window.
Hallway
First Floor Bedroom
Do I have to say it again?....
Bathroom
The only updated room in the house. Thank God!
Laundry Room
What a beautiful mossy green garden. Oh wait, no. That’s shag carpet!
Upstairs Bedroom/Office
Yes, the shag carpet was found across the entire second floor.
Backyard
In desperate need of new grass. Luckily all our neighbors have higher, newer fences so we'll remove the chainlink fence surrounded our yard.
